We are looking for an IT enthusiast to join a local company to work closely with an IT Director and manage the company's IT infrastructure. You will be joining a company which has over 30 years of manufacturing history,, who provide their customers with a unique range of services. They have a reputation for quality and are known for exceeding the expectations for each one off project.
The purpose of the IT Technician role is to: work closely with an IT Director managing the company's software, hardware, business management system, website, local network and general business hardware.
Key skills required:
2+ year's experience in a similar role and/or relevant qualifications
Strong knowledge of computer operating systems and applications
Familiar with a range of software and hardware
Ability to communicate technical information to technical and non technical audiences
Good communication and problem-solving skills
Organised and an ability to think logically
Key responsibilities of the role:
Configure and maintain company IT infrastructure
Communicate regularly with external software agencies
Coordinate internal IT development projects, including the drafting of software specifications, wireframes and supporting documentation for outsourcing development
Training employees on new company systems and provide support as required
Define software, hardware, and network requirements
Manage technical documentation and supplier contracts
Support with technology strategy planning
Administration of onboarding of new users, inventory of equipment, software, and licence users
Ensure that employees are following computer use, information security and privacy policies
Develop a renewal and upgrade schedule for company software programs and hardware
This is a full time role, based at their headquarters in Salisbury. Free parking on site.
