Purpose of the role: To ensure that the Production of product within the business is carried out in a quality, cost effective & efficient manner.

Key Objectives:

  • Research & development of manufacturing and assembly techniques
  • Support production process requirements during product development stages
  • Ensure the correct skills, tools, jigs and fixtures are made available to fulfil the purpose
  • Monitor current production effectiveness & ensure continuous improvement of production processes

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Developing, growing and protecting the long term efficiency of production
  • Assisting the managed & effective release of New Products into Production
  • Assist with the co-ordination of all other departments for the successful transition of new products from design through to production
  • Developing and implementing new production methods to increase productivity and improve quality
  • Creation and realisation of production jigs and fixtures
  • Assist with the maintenance of jigs and fixtures in production ensuring that they are effectively utilised and fit for purpose
  • Develop techniques to control production environments
  • Conducting Time & Motion studies to establish standard times
  • Review & approval of BOM’s for structure & content
  • Producing and maintaining Process Instructions (PI’s) for all product builds
  • Management and control of all production documentation

  • Problem solving and analytical skills to identify the root cause and resolve performance blockages

Qualification / Experience

  • Degree or HNC/D qualified or comparable work experience (apprenticeship / time served)
  • Understanding of various production engineering environments
  • Experience within product assembly and associated techniques
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing tools
  • Proficient use of CAD software (Solidworks)

Hours for the role: 9am – 5pm Mon-Fri
