A growing and well-established business is looking to appoint a commercially minded, hands-on Finance Manager to lead its finance function and support the senior leadership team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious finance professional who enjoys ownership, autonomy, and being embedded within the operational side of a business, not just sat behind the numbers.
Reporting directly to a Financial Director, you will lead a small finance team while remaining heavily involved in the day-to-day running of the department. This role offers genuine variety, visibility across the business, and the opportunity to influence processes, controls, reporting, and commercial decision-making.
The Role
Oversee the smooth running of the finance function, ensuring accurate reporting, strong financial controls, and timely delivery across all core accounting activities.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading and developing a small finance team
Managing purchase ledger, sales ledger, payroll, nominal ledger
Producing accurate monthly and year-end financial reporting
Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
Maintaining robust controls, reconciliations, and compliance procedures
Managing PAYE submissions
Supporting audit requirements and statutory reporting
Improving systems, reporting processes, and financial efficiencies
Partnering with operational stakeholders across the business
Providing commercial insight and financial support to leadership
About You
You will be a proactive and capable finance professional who enjoys taking ownership and operating within a fast-paced environment.
You will ideally have:
AAT qualification or similar
Previous experience within a Finance Manager or senior finance position
Strong management accounting and financial reporting experience
Excellent Excel and Microsoft Office skills
Experience managing or mentoring a finance team
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
A hands-on approach with the ability to meet deadlines
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Manufacturing asector experience (desirable)
