A growing and well-established business is looking to appoint a commercially minded, hands-on Finance Manager to lead its finance function and support the senior leadership team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious finance professional who enjoys ownership, autonomy, and being embedded within the operational side of a business, not just sat behind the numbers.

Reporting directly to a Financial Director, you will lead a small finance team while remaining heavily involved in the day-to-day running of the department. This role offers genuine variety, visibility across the business, and the opportunity to influence processes, controls, reporting, and commercial decision-making.

The Role

Oversee the smooth running of the finance function, ensuring accurate reporting, strong financial controls, and timely delivery across all core accounting activities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and developing a small finance team

  • Managing purchase ledger, sales ledger, payroll, nominal ledger

  • Producing accurate monthly and year-end financial reporting

  • Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management

  • Maintaining robust controls, reconciliations, and compliance procedures

  • Managing PAYE submissions

  • Supporting audit requirements and statutory reporting

  • Improving systems, reporting processes, and financial efficiencies

  • Partnering with operational stakeholders across the business

  • Providing commercial insight and financial support to leadership

About You

You will be a proactive and capable finance professional who enjoys taking ownership and operating within a fast-paced environment.

You will ideally have:

  • AAT qualification or similar

  • Previous experience within a Finance Manager or senior finance position

  • Strong management accounting and financial reporting experience

  • Excellent Excel and Microsoft Office skills

  • Experience managing or mentoring a finance team

  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills

  • A hands-on approach with the ability to meet deadlines

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

  • Manufacturing asector experience (desirable)
