We are currently recruiting for a Health & Safety Manager specifically from a Food manufacturing background to join a leading organisation and assist in the developing and delivering the best solutions while building a safety culture and ensuring the site is a safe place to work and visit.
You will be required to provide competent advice at varying levels to ensure the highest possible standards of Health & Safety Management is achieved in compliance with the Health & Safety policy and to lead the development and implementation of the site strategic plan.
To be considered for this permanent opportunity, you do need to demonstrate you have the following experiences to be compatible for the role.
NEBOSH General Certificate
Member of IOSH or equivalent body.
Previous Health and Safety experience at a senior level gained within manufacturing.
Understanding of current and proposed Safety Legislation
Understanding of current and proposed environmental legislation.
Knowledge and experience of Health, safety and Environmental management systems.
Strong facilitation, organisational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritise workload and multi task coupled with an attention to detail.
Good Microsoft Office skills (specifically Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint)
Current Full Driving License
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Some key responsibilities include:
To promote a Health and Safety culture, encourage strong leadership through competency, worker engagement, behaviours etc
To develop and undertake external and Internal Health and Safety audits to ensure continual improvement across the site.
To ensure the highest levels of excellent Health and Safety management by providing expert advice across the site to ensure the effective management of all Health and Safety requirements and to maintain compliance with all current statutory and legislative regulations.
Assisting in the development, implementation and reviewing of the company’s Health and Safety policies
Carrying out and reviewing specific Risk Assessments as required and maintaining risk profiling register on site on a Plan Do Check Act basis.
Be actively involved in the management and reduction of risk within the business; inclusive of maintenance of the operating sites master risk profile register
