Admin & Reception Assistant | Amesbury | £25,500 | Full Time | Monday–Friday | Full training provided
£25,545 | 37.5 hours per week | Monday–Friday: Hybrid/home working available once fully trained
Looking for your first proper office job? You might have just finished your A-levels. Perhaps you've recently graduated and aren't quite sure what comes next. Or maybe you're currently working in retail, hospitality or customer service and know you're capable of more.
For this opportunity, we're not looking for an experienced Administrator.
In fact, we're much more interested in finding someone with the right attitude, work ethic and potential who wants to learn.
ReQuire are working with a brilliant local business with an established administration team of four. They've developed together, know their jobs inside out and are now looking for someone new to join them who they can train, support and develop from the ground up.
Who we are looking for?
Someone positive, bright and willing to learn.
You'll need to be a good communicator, comfortable speaking with people and happy to take direction and feedback. You'll be joining an experienced team, so being open-minded and genuinely wanting to learn how they do things is important.
You'll also need a strong work ethic. This isn't about having the perfect CV – it's about turning up, getting involved, asking questions and becoming someone the team can rely upon.
You'll gradually learn how to:
Handle calls and customer enquiries
Manage emails and correspondence
Support customers and colleagues
Update systems and maintain accurate records
Prepare documents and quotations
Set up new projects
Manage different priorities throughout the day
Become a knowledgeable and trusted member of the team
Full training will be provided.
The Hours
The role is 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, and the business can offer plenty of flexibility around how those hours are structured.
There is one important requirement: you'll generally need to be available until 5.30pm, as this is an important time of day for customer correspondence.
Initially, you'll be office-based while you learn the role and get to know the team. Once you're fully trained and confident, there will be the opportunity for hybrid working and potentially working predominantly from home.
Who could this suit?
You don't need administration experience.
You don't need to have worked in an office.
And you certainly don't need to know anything about the industry.
You might be a school or college leaver, recent graduate, or someone early in your working life who's looking for an employer prepared to give you an opportunity.
What you do need is a great attitude, good communication skills, reliability and a genuine willingness to learn.
If you're thinking, “I know I'm capable, I just need someone to give me an opportunity”, this could be a very good place to start.
