The Boss' Charity trek

On Saturday 8th June, Liam took part in Action Challenge’s Ultra Endurance Marathon trek, covering 100km heading on foot from Poole across the stunning Jurassic Coast, through the night, over Chesil Beach before turning form the finish line once the hills of West Bay (ITV’s Broadchurch) had been overcome. He crossed the line in Bridport (62.5miles away) at 8:36am the following morning.

Liam had been training for the past six months since signing up following inspiration from his Father In Law who endured a 7 hour operation to remove Lung Cancer and went into the event in a typically positive mindset.

“It was quite the challenge, seeing so many people have to retire early due to fatigue, exhaustion and injury was tough but the biggest challenge was the sheer incline on some of the Jurassic coast, moments of the night walk was tough as your body is telling you it should be in bed and then you had Chesil Beach and 3k of pure shingle, it just went on and on!”

Now that recovery is over, he’s already making noises about his next challenge so watch this space to see what the next crazy idea is..

On a serious note, we are delighted to confirm he has raised in excess of £2,300 for Roy Castle Lung Cancer and there is still time to donate now that he has completed his mission..
