We have a new opportunity available for an individual who has at least 2-3 years of experience working in a Claims division of an insurance firm who can take the lead and act as the Senior figure in a small Claims department. The primary focus will be on helping the Company underwrite profitable business on an increasing scale and developing the performance of a Claims team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to take on more responsibility and take on some people management responsibilities which will ultimately maximise the team's performance. Whilst working as part of the team and managing the workflow of the team daily targets to ensure SLAs are consistently reached, another key part will include regular reviews of performance to identify where improvements can be introduced.
This position will pave the way to an exciting senior opportunity. As the business continues to develop at the speed your role as Claims Lead will become more and more crucial. You will be provided with the opportunity to enhance all claims management across each of our client's product lines.
To be considered as the successful candidate, you will need to demonstrate a technical Claims understanding and broker introduced business, including personal, commercial lines and product classes. You will also play a lead part in the client facing element of retail and broker driven claims.
Some of the key responsibilities will include:
Work within Insurer Claims Handling Terms and Agreement
Drive the customer/broker experience ensuring they receive a professional and efficient service as well as identifying solutions for improvements and enhancing the customer service provision
Ensure net loss ratios and profitability targets are achieved. Whilst taking effective and well considered actions to deliver targets and manage business change.
Innovate and engage with all areas of the business operations to gain maximum exposure, understanding the challenges and resolving in a commercially effective way.
Control the distribution of workload to maximise productivity, maintain high quality output and achieve SLA’s and KPI’s
Work closely with intermediaries to develop relationships with existing clients across other classes/relationships and promoting Company products
Review claims strategies, produce MI data and will liaise with Insurers and Claims TPA’s to make sure KPI’s are being met.
Develop strategies in line with company goals and objectives to deliver business targets
Provide guidance, leadership and motivation to team members
Design, implement and maintain strategies for fraud detection and continuous monitoring
Participate in strategic planning and performance measurement as part of the Management Team
Produce monthly reports on all areas of claims activity, aligning these to business plans and priorities for presentation to the Executive team
Carry out effective performance management of the team, ensuring actions are taken where necessary.
Technical skills, knowledge and experience
Good business acumen, the ability to balance creativity with strong commercial delivery.
Leadership skills in a commercial environment
Good knowledge of legislation and regulation including principles of insurance and the insurance marketplace
Current up to date knowledge of Personal and Commercial lines claims practice and management
Ability to interpret claims trend analysis and make recommendations on continuous improvements
Liaising with specialists for risk assessment
Knowledge of Public Liability Claims would be desirable.
Previous experience of Claims management or Team Leadership
A dynamic professional; who must demonstrate knowledge of insurance, possess a passion for excellence and customer delivery, along with analytical interpretation, management and claims delivery & implementation.
