A new vacancy for an IT Manager is now available to join a leading Marketing firm based in Salisbury. The successful candidate will be joining a dynamic operation and will play a key role in their planned future growth across the business.
The IT Manager is responsible for maintaining and running the entire computer network and ensuring all staff are able to fully utilise, not only their laptops and relevant software, but also third party systems such as video conferencing, webinar broadcasting and online workshop platforms to deliver client projects professionally and confidently. You will manage an outsourced technology support function and is responsible for all existing computer systems, software and hardware, while looking for new ways to grow the company's network in a cost-effective way to meet future needs.
Main responsibilities will include:
Responsible for creating and administering disaster plans that will keep the company functional in the event of a crisis
Oversees information security and maintains network and user security through hardware or software installation or through education
Supports the company's compliance to General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
Advises about organisation’s IT equipment, networking, and connectivity needs and purchases products, parts, and services as necessary
Works closely with departmental managers to determine the network’s maintenance
Oversees equipment purchasing and installation, maintains computer networks and connectivity
Develops innovative network troubleshooting methods that reduce downtime and lower repair costs
1st line support for IT issues, organise troubleshooting or repair when necessary for IT equipment
Coordinates IT support, training, and orientation for new technology users
Implements an IT budget for the organisation as a whole or for specific departments. Ensures capital expenditure is purchased at competitive prices
Tracks inventory and status for hardware and software throughout the organisation
Establishes relationships with technology vendors
Researches and stays up-to-date regarding new IT equipment and solutions
Advises, researches and trains employees on video conferencing technologies, online platforms and learning management systems, data visualisation platforms, and content management systems which will support their clients’ projects and in turn help deliver state of the art digital solutions
Essential skills/experience
Bachelor’ Degree in Computer Science or related field
5+ years’ experience in information technology management preferably within a health care setting
Comprehensive understanding of network architecture and client/server technology
Strong problem solving and communication skills
Software development abilities preferred
