We have a new vacancy for a Marketing & Communications Manager to provide strategic support to the Maritime and Land business unit to produce and deliver integrated marketing and communications plans that help shape and drive business growth.
The role will require working with stakeholders as a strategic advisor, delivering marketing, internal communications, external communications and business support. As such, this role requires highly skilled stakeholder management that builds confidence among the business at all levels.. The role will require the ability to manage pressures from the business and prioritise work to ensure effective delivery.
Importantly, this is a leadership role where each individual is required to work with the wider Marketing & Communications Team, and agencies to achieve the best possible results.
This role is key to the successful implementation of our function strategy which is to ensure that our work is rooted in customer audience understanding and utilises all digital and non-digital channels.
The holder of this position is expected to be a role model for the MarComms function, demonstrating a positive attitude and displaying our core values and behaviours at all times.
Provide strategic advice to the M&L MD and Key stakeholders in area of responsibility
Act as the single point of contact for the business
Develop, manage and execute integrated marketing and communications plans
Provide support and advice for all internal communications including providing best practice
Responsible for all proactive media relations for area, including press releases, and media events
Development of marketing strategy and plans
Responsible for strategic briefing of the wider team (digital, design, research & events)
Responsible for reporting on campaign results
Management of design and agency support as required
Responsible for the budget allocated for any work undertaken
The sourcing of customer delivery stories that can be used both internally and externally and develop associated content
In terms of skills & experiences we are looking for someone who can:
Lead on internal communications
Integrated marketing and communications experience
Strategic planning experience (leading not just doing)
A high level of organisational ability and experience of working independently to take decisions
Excellent communicator with the ability to influence at a senior level and a high level of gravitas with customers/internal stakeholders; able to be viewed as a key strategic partner in the business
Highly developed leadership and collaboration skills – able to collaborate and lead virtual teams across the function
Ability to prioritise multiple projects and manage workloads effectively.
Strong focus on accountability and desire to succeed
Strong Defence / B2G or B2B experience – working in complex markets and being able to simplify
Expert in complex stakeholder management
The ability to work at pace – accelerating progress
Creative ‘outside the box’ thinking
Ability to multitask, to prioritise work and deliver to challenging deadlines, with high levels of accuracy and attention to detail
5+ years of relevant B2B marketing and communications expertise with demonstrable track record/ability to deliver
Strong commercial focus
Demonstrable creative record – in the widest business sense
Degree level educated or equivalent working experience
Experience of working with senior leaders in a strategic advisory role
Strong leadership skills having led multifunctional teams
MoD Experience ESSENTIAL
Great writing Skills and PR experience
Experience across Structured Campaigns
Proactive with ability to juggle multiple Projects
