​We are looking for a Portfolio Operations Manager to support our clients Portfolio Management function. They are on an exciting journey to expand across Government, and need you to help drive them there.

Spin-outs and licences established by our client range from new medical and diagnostic products like our presymptomatic sepsis diagnostic tool; to world-leading communications and surveillance technologies; to ground-breaking new materials set to redefine the world of forensic science and aid police in catching criminals.

We need you to ensure they have the best working practices by using analytical insight to drive the best outcomes from our overall portfolio of inventions and intellectual property. You will help build a comprehensive working capability that makes it really easy for innovation sources to collaborate and ensure that time is never wasted in taking innovations to market.

Responsibilities 

  • Support  Portfolio VP in providing Portfolio Management Office capability

  • Develop and manage the operational capability to determine a prioritized and balanced portfolio, capable of meeting  business and impact goals.

  • Manage and optimise client disclosure and opportunity onboarding processes.

  • Support development of end to end delivery model, its processes and systems.

  • Develop data dictionary and associated data quality measures, driving ongoing development to fulfil our reporting, Management Information and insight needs.

  • Create and manage executive and client Management Information and dashboards across our operating model.

  • Manage and continue to develop Portfolio Management System (CRM).

  • Administer / manage changes to the CRM system

  • Provide Portfolio and Business Transformation Programme support.

  • Development of portfolio presentation content for the executive team and clients

  • Monitoring and analysis of the portfolio performance, recommending and owning opportunities to improve it.

Person specification

Ideally you are educated to degree level. A track record in developing new operating models and systems is essential combined with strong operational and Business / Management Information experience, particularly visualization. A background across a diverse range of sectors and experience in agile methodology would be very welcome. You must be analytical, and curious in your thinking. You will be commercially agile, have strong interpersonal skills and be comfortable collaborating with your colleagues.

  • Good MS Excel and PowerPoint skills will be essential for this role

  • Power BI, Qlik Sense or similar experience will be an advantage

  • An understanding of Intellectual Property Rights and the UK patent process is desirable.

  • To succeed you will need to build positive relationships with the team, commercial partners and across government. You will require high level verbal and written skills.

The role offers a working from home/hybrid pattern so are flexible on location.
