The main purpose of the role is:provide key support to the company's financial health. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will work with another Accounts Assistant to accurately maintain records of supplier transactions and ensure timely processing and payment of invoices.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Reconcile company credit and fuel cards, supplier statements

  • Process and pay expense claims

  • Match direct debits to invoices

  • Liaise with facilities to manage utilities, car tax, and council tax

  • Monitor finance emails and queries

  • Assist with bank reconciliations

  • Help with payment run input and preparation

  • Maintain and update supplier records

  • Assist supply chain with supplier credit forms and checks

  • Provide cover for other finance team members as needed

  • Resolve queries from suppliers and internal stakeholders about invoices and payments

Key skills we are looking for, from the desired candidate:

  • Experience in purchase ledger or accounts payable roles

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel

  • High accuracy and attention to detail in data entry and financial records

  • Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with suppliers and internal teams

  • Ability to quickly identify and resolve invoice and payment discrepancies

  • Collaborative attitude and effective teamwork skills
