Our client, a leader in the retail industry, seeks an experienced Marketing Lead to drive their supplier-funded marketing strategy. This role will be central to enhancing supplier relationships and maximising ROI on marketing activities. Reporting to the Head of Department, the Marketing Lead will manage supplier activities, coordinate with the Brand Marketing Manager, and work closely with the broader marketing team to ensure that campaigns are strategically aligned with brand standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supplier Coordination & Marketing Strategy: Collaborate with the Head of Department (HOD) and Brand Marketing Manager to align supplier activities with the marketing strategy focused on awareness, differentiation, and driving in-store traffic. Ensure all campaigns meet agreed-upon performance measures and brand alignment.

  • Budget & Financial Management: Oversee marketing budgets, supplier funding, and financial forecasts. Track supplier funds and manage billing, reconciliations, and accruals to maintain budget compliance, working alongside the finance team to ensure accuracy.

  • Campaign Management: Work with the Marketing Campaigns & Communications Coordinator and Projects Coordinator to deliver integrated campaigns. This includes creating newsletters, maintaining the marketing calendar, and engaging stakeholders through regular weekly briefs.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and sustain productive relationships with internal teams, suppliers, and members, facilitating supplier funding negotiations and identifying new channel opportunities to drive additional supplier contributions.

  • Project Support & Process Improvement: Support the Member Claims Coordinator with local A&P spend opportunities and work closely with the Projects Coordinator to facilitate staff reward programs, ensuring seamless collaboration across departments. Identify and implement process improvements for efficient campaign delivery and reporting.

Essential Experience

  • Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with a broad range of marketing tactics, including digital and traditional media.

  • Strong background in corporate communications, from ideation to deployment.

  • Proven ability in brand management with a deep understanding of brand positioning and customer targeting.

  • Financial management expertise, including forecasting, budget reconciliation, and billing.

  • Track record of leading a team and developing marketing strategies in a retail setting, ideally within the electrical sector.

  • Stakeholder management skills, demonstrating the ability to negotiate and collaborate with internal and external partners effectively.

Essential Skills

  • Strategic insight and an up-to-date understanding of marketing best practices.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Technical proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.

  • Project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.

  • Creative, proactive, and motivational, with a flexible approach to evolving business needs.

  • Strong organisational skills with a proven ability to prioritise and delegate within a fast-paced team environment.
