We require the services of an exceptional Data Quality Analyst to join an Andover based business who are embarking on an ambitious program of global business transformation enabled by the implementation of a new global technology solution. The delivery and embedding of this technology solution across our highly successful and highly de-centralized business will change the way they work forever, enabling greater data insight, simplification of processes and ways of working and creating greater collaboration across the business.

Purpose

The role of the Business Unit Data Analyst is to collaborate with the internal functions within the BU and core project team in order to ensure readiness for the deployment of a new ERP system. Key to this will be the implementation of a new global Data Quality tool and Master Data Governance processes to improve and sustain acceptable levels of data quality critical to the migration phase of the project.

Key Accountabilities

  • Coordination of a Data Discovery exercise within the BU, by working closely with the global data team, local process leads and data owners in order to identify key systems and master data objects in scope of the migration

  • For each data object, identify critical fields that should be in scope of the new DQ tool, and determine the rules that describe permitted/required values

  • Profiling of data to ascertain data rules based on data types, formats, patterns, and logic

  • Documentation of data quality rules within the DQ Rulebook

  • Configuration of the DQ tool in order to setup the data rules required for verification of data and identification of data defects that require cleansing

  • Work with the business to understand the lifecycle of key data objects and therefore implement a program of housekeeping to remove redundant and obsolete data

  • Development of functional area Data Quality Scorecards to allow the local BU to track ongoing quality of data against targets required to support migration

  • Coordination of data cleansing activities within the BU, including the implementation of preventative measures such as new master data governance processes for key data objects eg. material, vendor and customer

  • Implementation of data improvement and cleansing processes with relevant training material

  • Support the local BU by conducting master data familiarisation sessions to build knowledge to understand how legacy data will map to the new S4HANA data model

  • Work with the core project team to assess the impact and implementation of change to support global Key Data Design Decisions – such as standardisation of codes, units of measure, item types and hierarchies

Essential skills and experiences we are looking for in our preferred candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in SAP

  • Large-scale SAP implementations and transformation programmes experience

  • Experience of working with a data dictionary and data quality/profiling tools

  • Configuring data quality rules and scorecards within SAP Information Steward

  • Knowledge of the key master data objects within SAP (material, vendor, customer, asset)

  • Knowledge on Data Architecture and Data Modelling

  • Professional data analytical experience, working well independently and within a team

  • Experience in a process-driven environment and Business Process Re-engineering

  • Ability to communicate functional requirements and provide implementation guidance

  • Knowledge of the integration points with other modules

  • Experience working for a multinational organisation and working with colleagues internationally and demonstrated mobility

  • Ability to influence stakeholders

  • Experience working in a team onshore and offshore

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver continuous improvement initiatives

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

The position is hybrid as you would be required on site to the head office in Andover, a couple of times a week - Certainly in the beginning to cement relationships.
