We are working with a well-established UK manufacturer to recruit an experienced Injection Moulding Technician to join their production team. This is a hands-on technical role, suited to a skilled Injection Moulding Setter or Process Technician looking for a stable, well-run manufacturing environment with modern equipment and clear standards.
The role focuses on tool setting, machine operation, fault-finding, and process control, while supporting operators to ensure consistent quality, safety, and performance across shifts.
The Role
You will take ownership of the technical set-up and running of injection moulding machines, ensuring production targets and quality standards are met.
Key responsibilities include:
Setting up and operating injection moulding machines in line with production plans and specifications
Installing and changing mould tools safely and efficiently
Monitoring product quality against specification sheets and control samples
Carrying out preventative maintenance and resolving technical or mechanical issues to minimise downtime
Supporting and guiding operators on correct materials, processes, and quality standards
Ensuring Health & Safety procedures are followed at all times
Maintaining accurate production and maintenance documentation
Communicating daily with the Mouldings Manager regarding performance, issues, and improvement opportunities
Assisting with operator training alongside Team Leaders
This is a practical, on-the-tools position within a shift-based manufacturing environment.
Shift Pattern
You will work an alternating weekly shift pattern:
Early shift: 6:00am – 2:00pm, Monday to Friday
(1:00pm finish on Fridays – includes a 20-minute paid break)Late shift: 2:00pm – 12:00am, Monday to Thursday
(includes two 15-minute breaks – one paid, one unpaid)
A 10% shift allowance applies to early shifts and a 20% shift allowance applies to late shifts.
About You
Ideally, we are looking for some of the following:
Proven experience as an Injection Moulding Technician, Setter, or Process Technician
Strong understanding of injection moulding processes and general manufacturing practices
Hands-on experience with machine set-up, tool changes, and fault-finding
Good communication skills and the ability to support and guide operators
A strong awareness of Health & Safety and quality standards
A proactive, organised approach and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
