We're Hiring for a Senior Management Accountant | Make a Real Impact

Are you a detail-driven Management Accountant with a passion for meaningful numbers and real-world results? Would you thrive in a dynamic environment that values both professionalism and people? Then we’d love to hear from you.

We’re on the lookout for a talented Senior Management Accountant to join our client's high-performing Finance Team. This is more than a numbers job, it's a chance to directly shape financial strategy, support independent retail across the UK, and contribute to a mission-driven organisation that’s building a smarter, more sustainable future.

👇 What you'll be doing

As a Senior Management Accountant, you’ll play a key role in the preparation of management accounts, budgeting, compliance reporting, and supporting their internal audit and financial control activities. You'll work closely with their Group Finance Manager and collaborate with teams across the business to ensure accurate and timely financial information, while also leading and supporting a member of the accounts team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing quarterly management accounts and annual budgets.

  • Supporting year-end financial statements and audit processes.

  • Managing VAT returns and compliance deadlines.

  • Overseeing debtors, creditors, condition contract claims, and financial reconciliations.

  • Providing strategic insight through financial analysis and reporting.

  • Mentoring junior team members and supporting cross-functional collaboration.

  • Enhancing financial systems and processes, with opportunities to lead or test new developments.

🧠 What we are looking for

  • ACCA / CIMA (or equivalent) part-qualified

  • At least 3 years’ experience in a finance environment, with 2 years in a similar role.

  • Strong track record in management accounts, reconciliation work, and budgeting.

  • A methodical and proactive approach with excellent problem-solving skills.

  • Intermediate Excel skills and a good understanding of Microsoft Office.

  • Ability to work confidently with stakeholders at all levels and contribute to a supportive team culture.

Bonus points if you’ve worked with SAP, managed online payment platforms, or are familiar with condition contracts and supplier claims.

What You’ll Get in Return

We understand that our people are our biggest strength. That’s why we offer:

  • A competitive salary with annual reviews.

  • 25 days’ holiday (plus bank holidays), rising with long service.

  • Pension contributions (5% employer, 4% employee).

  • Life assurance from day one and income protection after five years.

  • Flexible hybrid working three days in the office, two from home.

  • Early finish Fridays

  • Private medical insurance

  • An inclusive culture built on team spirit, personal growth, and continuous learning.

  • A workplace committed to sustainability, innovation, and giving back.

Why should I apply?

This role offers the best of both worlds: the scale and ambition of a national retail organisation, combined with a close-knit team where your voice matters. You'll be part of a company that champions independent businesses, promotes eco-conscious initiatives, and celebrates diversity and empowerment.
