Are you ready to take the next step in your career? We’re looking for a proactive and organised individual to join a well-established and supportive procurement team as a Purchasing Assistant. This is the ideal opportunity for someone with strong administrative experience, looking to move into a more specialist role within purchasing and supply chain.

What’s in it for you?

  • A clearly defined step up from administration into purchasing

  • Full training and support from an experienced and welcoming team

  • Real scope for progression in a growing business

  • Monday–Friday working hours with a great work/life balance

About the Role:

As a Purchasing Assistant, you'll be a key player in ensuring materials, stock, and services are ordered efficiently and on time. While prior purchasing experience is not essential, you should have a keen eye for detail, good organisational skills, and confidence working with numbers and systems. This is a developmental role perfect for someone looking to grow into the role of a Buyer in the future.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Raising and processing purchase orders

  • Liaising with suppliers to check availability, lead times, and pricing

  • Ensuring materials and stock are ordered in line with project requirements

  • Tracking deliveries and handling any discrepancies

  • Supporting the team with general procurement administration and system updates

What we’re looking for:

  • Previous experience in an administrative or coordinator role (ideally in a commercial, manufacturing, or construction setting)

  • A proactive approach and willingness to learn

  • Strong IT skills confident using email, Excel, and internal systems

  • Excellent communication and organisation skills

  • A team player with a can-do attitude

Familiarity with ERP or MRP systems is a bonus, but full training will be provided.
