We have a new opportunity for a permanent packing Engineer working 42 hours Monday to Friday. You will be tasked to provide efficient and proactive support service to the factory by controlling and maintaining all packing plant and machinery, ensuring optimum efficiency and that budgetary controls are met. You will work as part of a skilled cross functional planned maintenance team
Key Responsibilities
To ensure all PLC systems relating to packing and coding equipment are maintained in line with schedules.
Ensure H&S, safety and hygiene standards are adhered to at all times
A fast and effective response to breakdowns
Diagnosing faults and taking corrective action
Assisting mechanical engineers
Participate in the continuous improvement culture by identifying new efficiencies and waste reduction options
Assist in training fellow engineers
Ensure planned maintenance work is completed to strict schedules
Working on various projects including installation of and modifications to plant equipment
Essential experience
Time served apprentice trained and electrical qualifications
PLC programming knowledge across and range of equipment
Good communication skills
Detailed approach to work
Must be able to work as part of a team
Good written, numerical and computer skills are essential
Knowledge of plant maintenance work
Knowledge of PPM techniques and CMMS systems
