We are recruiting a Procurement Assistant to support a busy procurement function and play an essential role in ensuring the smooth operation of the supply chain. This role is 30 hours per week and we can be flexible around the hours.
This opportunity would be perfect for someone highly organised, proactive, and eager to build their career within procurement and supply chain. Working closely with the Buyer & Procurement Officer, you’ll contribute to process improvements, supplier engagement, and the efficient flow of goods into the business.
What you’ll be doing:
Providing proactive administrative support to the procurement team
Creating and updating purchase orders, maintaining accurate records and supplier documentation
Updating MRP/ERP data to ensure delivery and order information is accurate
Supporting the import process, including liaison with freight forwarders and goods-in teams
Assisting with supplier evaluations and maintaining performance metrics
Monitoring inventory levels and helping analyse demand to support buying decisions
Supporting negotiations and assisting with contract terms
Working with Finance to resolve invoice queries promptly
Keeping informed of market trends to identify potential cost efficiencies
What we’re looking for:
Experience in a procurement or administrative role
Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload effectively
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Proficient using MS Office, especially Excel
Effective communicator and relationship builder
Knowledge of imports and freight forwarding would be an advantage
