As the Sales Project Manager, you will be responsible for the management of all major projects within the UK and export markets. Previous B2B and project management skills, will see you develop relationships, cementing long term partnerships such that our client becomes the long term supplier of choice. Your skills will enable you to review the company's products and processes, seeking ways to improve effectiveness, reduce waste and efficiently use resources keeping the customer happy and maximising the sales potential for the Sales force.
Our client are an established, market leader within their sector and have a skilled design and manufacturing team based in Salisbury. The role of Sales Project Manager has arisen to join their dynamic Commercial team, that will enable our client to continue to grow it's brand name in the Secure market, here in the UK.
Primary purpose of the role: To work closely with the Technical Director (TD) and General Manager (GM), taking responsibility for the projects within the UK & Ireland.
Key responsibilities include:
Responsible for the project management of the major sales projects, including the line management of Project Co-ordinators and drawing on the resources of others, as required.
Coordinating with the Technical, Design, Operations departments
Liaise with customers in relation to tendering opportunities, technical and specification issues
Use effective and efficient use of resources to ensure that all necessary actions and functions are carried out
Constantly review system & procedures in order to improve effectiveness and reduce waste
Ensure that incoming project enquiries are handled in a timely manner
Oversee that the CRM system and reluctant logs are updated in a timely manner
Identify new projects at the earliest of stages, this will require liaising with the Business Development Manager and TD
Prepare Project Tenders - Interpreting customer drawings and written specifications.
Liaising with the TD and others to determine the best solution for the customer's request
Reviewing and understanding specific Terms & Conditions of purchase for projects ensuring they are acceptable to engage in contract negotiations
Work closely with the TD & GM in regards to attending exhibitions, the organisation and management of internal activity and to spend time with clients where needs be on site or at the office Headquarters
Essential skills to succeed in this role:
Mechanical engineering bias or background
3-5years + Project management experience – (Being able to manage projects of £250k - £5m is an advantage)
Experience of Project Management - (Desirable if it was in connection with Construction, Architecture or Government contracts)
Whilst the role is based at their headquarters their will be occasions whereby you will visit some of your client's at their site so a company car, laptop and phone are all provided from day one.
