Purchasing Supervisor – Construction & Manufacturing Sector

A respected industry leader within the construction and specialist manufacturing space is seeking an experienced Purchasing Supervisor to join their dynamic procurement team. This is an excellent opportunity to step into a pivotal role with a company known for operational excellence and a supportive, performance-driven culture.

As a Purchasing Supervisor, you'll work closely with the Purchasing Manager to support procurement functions across materials, plant, and equipment ensuring effective supplier relationships, continuous improvement, and cost efficiency across the board.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mentor, motivate and support a small, capable Purchasing Team

  • Manage day-to-day procurement operations and ensure purchasing requests are actioned efficiently

  • Drive cost-saving initiatives while maintaining supply chain integrity

  • Collaborate with suppliers to maintain strong, value-driven relationships

  • Assist in process improvements, workload delegation, and compliance with governance

  • Monitor KPIs to ensure procurement activity supports wider business goals

  • Maintain ERP systems and support data accuracy for procurement functions

What We're Looking For

  • Demonstrable experience in purchasing, ideally within construction or manufacturing

  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build lasting supplier relationships

  • ERP systems experience (Pegasus ideal, but not essential)

  • Contract management exposure beneficial

  • High attention to detail and a process-improvement mindset

  • Proven ability to prioritise and work effectively under pressure

  • Strong leadership qualities – adaptable, proactive, and team-oriented
