ReQuire Consultancy is exclusively partnering with The Wiltshire Distilling Company, the business behind the premium spirits brand Witchmark Distillery, to appoint a Financial Controller on an immediate 6-month fixed-term contract.
This is an opportunity to join a growing, entrepreneurial craft distillery at a pivotal stage of its development, where strong commercial momentum has been built and the focus is now on strengthening financial processes to support sustainable growth.

We are seeking: A hands-on operator who can impose structure without corporate heaviness.
This is a pragmatic SME environment, not corporate bureaucracy, where clarity, ownership, and commercial thinking are highly valued.
The Role
Reporting to the CFO, with a Bookkeeper supporting the function, you will take ownership of day-to-day finance while implementing improvements that create a scalable and well-controlled platform for future growth.
You will work closely with leadership and play a visible role in shaping the finance function during an important stage in the company’s journey.
Key Responsibilities
Ownership of finance operations including ledgers, reconciliations and cashflow
Month-end close and production of management accounts
Variance analysis and leadership reporting
Strengthening financial controls and processes
Budgeting, forecasting and scenario planning
Stock accounting and cost of goods within a manufacturing environment
Commercial insight around margins and performance
Liaison with external accountants, auditors and banking partners
Supporting and mentoring the Bookkeeper
About You
ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified (or equivalent experience)
Financial Controller or senior finance experience within SMEs
Manufacturing, FMCG experience desirable, not essential.
Hands-on, pragmatic and commercially aware
Comfortable operating in a growing business environment
Strong systems capability (Xero, Sage or similar)
Available to start in April.
You will enjoy improving processes, bringing clarity, and working closely with decision-makers rather than operating in large corporate structures.
